Currently offering summer English tuition for GCSE & A level, including: catch up sessions, content revision, AS to A2 transition, and more!
I have 5+ years' experience teaching English Literature and English Language at both A level and GCSE, and offer bespoke 1:1 tuition in Exeter and surrounding areas.
I have taught key curriculum texts such as A Streetcar Named Desire, Othello, Frankenstein, Romantic poetry and more. I am active in my field and currently studying a MA in Literary Studies at the University of Exeter.
My tuition is tailored to the student, and can be skills-based, content-based, or a mixture of both. I will work with you to establish what you love about English, what you find enjoyable and what you find more challenging. We will create a tailored plan and every session will consist of fun and challenging exercises built to suit your needs.
Our sessions can also be as light touch as you want them to be; if you are simply looking to practice some exam questions or improve your academic writing with a supportive and friendly person, you're in the right place!

FAQs
Subject to location, I can travel to you. I tend not to stray outside of a 10 mile radius of Exeter. I travel frequently to the following areas: Exmouth, Tiverton and Crediton.
Please be reassured that I also offer online tuition - this can be discussed in a free consultation.
Please get in touch via this form; I usually have spaces available, and tutor from 5:30pm to 9pm across the week.
The only days I do not offer tuition are Saturday and Sunday.
What I offer is flexible and intended to work around you and your needs. You are welcome to buy blocks of sessions at a time, or see me weekly or fortnightly on a rolling basis until I am no longer needed. This is why I offer a free consultation, to get to know you and what you are looking for.
If you buy a block of sessions, you will get £15 off!
For example:
4x sessions at £180 discounted to £165
8x sessions at £360 discounted to £345
I offer tuition face-to-face in your home or by meeting you in an appropriate public space such as Exeter Library.
I also offer online tuition. If your sessions with me are online, you will receive a joining link 24 hours before our session start time.
I require 24 hours' notice cancellation; if you cancel less than 24 hours before our session, you will still be charged the full fee.
If you have bought a block of sessions and cancel one of them with more than 24 hours' notice, you have the option to reschedule the cancelled session, or be refunded 50% of the session.
If you wish to stop our sessions, you are most welcome, but please give 24 hours' notice.
During the free consultation, we will meet virtually using Google Meet. You are welcome to bring anyone you like, like a parent, to join us. We will get to know each other and you will have the opportunity to tell me a bit about what level of English you're studying, your exam board, and what brings you to getting a tutor. I may ask you some questions about what you're enjoying and what you might feel you need more help with, as well as what set texts (if any) you're studying.
We will also discuss the frequency and duration of our sessions, and whether you would prefer rolling sessions or to buy a block of sessions.
There is absolutely no obligation to proceed and you do not have to decide on the spot. If you decide you would like to proceed, you will need to drop me an email as soon as you can to secure your space.
Yes, I am! I have plenty of experience supporting students with SEN and neurodivergence, as both a teacher and tutor.
As part of the free consultation, I always ask whether tutees have any exam access arrangements, to help me understand what I can do to make them feel comfortable and ensure our sessions are planned appropriately around their preferred pace and ways of working.
As well as this, I am also experienced in supporting learners with mental health challenges, such as anxiety.
I prefer payment through direct bank transfer. Upon booking, I will send you my bank details and require payment before the start of each session. More details can be found in my terms & conditions which will be provided following the free consultation.
